Guess who

(stolen from pullipsushi)

Find Out Which Disney Girl You Are!
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Belle

Dancing furniture, singing spoons, and a man who needs a serious haircut - sound familiar? Well it should! Belle was a very independent spirit with alot on her mind, much like you are! But in life, there is a needed balance - learn when to speak your mind, and when to hold it back. Sometimes offending someone isn't the best way to go!

Album cover meme

ganked from </a>[info]heartjam

The rules:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Using your favorite graphics program combine these three elements to design your album cover and post the result.

Music meme

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
Step 2: Post the first line(s) from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly (no lyric hunting! that is cheating!).

 My kids.

Oh, wait, that was something else I used.  Not hands.  But still mine.

Never mind.

Do over?

Spinach

So I'm at Whole Foods, in the produce section, looking for a nice big tub of pre-washed organic spinach that I can saute with lots of garlic tonight - but there's none.  Nada.  Not a single pre-washed spinach product in sight.

Another woman is standing there, looking confused, too.

"No spinach," I say.

"That's what I'm looking for," she says.  "I was just at [some other supermarket], and they didn't have any, either."

My first thought is: E. COLI.

I don't see anything in the news ... yet ...

Meme!

Stolen from mw, who stole it from someone who stole it from someone else.  :D

1. Post a list of seven TV shows you love (current or cancelled).
2. Have your friends list guess your favorite character from each show.
3. When guessed, bold the line and write a little bit about why you like that character.

My list of shows:

1. Slings and Arrows

2. Sex and the City

3. Deadwood.
heartjam is exactly right - I LOVE Al Swearingen - he's scary as hell, but does what he does to keep the world spinning.

4. Absolutely Fabulous

5. Action (Jay Mohr)

6. Rescue Me

7. Flight of the Conchords

Butter update

Butter, the Broken Butterfly

We sent away for caterpillars to refill our butterfly pavilion, and we had butterflies popping out of their pupae all last week. One of them has a crumpled wing and can't fly, so we aren't releasing him. We supply sugar water and orange slices for him to drink from, and hang the pavilion outside so he can enjoy some fresh air; and every so often, I rescue him from his back, or from beneath the plate on which the orange slices rest. I'm amazed he has lived for so long (over a week!) ... although he is looking a little "crispy" around the edges these days.  He doesn't move a whole lot, but every time I think he's dead, he flutters.  I call him "Butter," since he can't fly.

I'm always amazed by the process - caterpillars to pupae to butterflies. I wonder if the butterflies have any memory of having been caterpillars. I wonder if the caterpillars have any sense of what's in store for them. I wonder what in the world I will feed the new larvae if Butter lays eggs before he dies.
